2023 State FFA

 This year, for the 95th Nebraska State FFA Convent, nineteen out of twenty-two Garden County FFA members attended.

The Environmental and Natural Resources CDE team earned a blue ribbon. Individually, Zeke Christiansen earned a purple ribbon, Gunner Roberson and Kyle Rote both earned blue ribbons, and Wyland Lobner earned a white ribbon. 

The Ag Sales CDE team earned a red ribbon as a team. The team consists of Karma Peterson, Logan Levick, and Carver Corfield who received a white ribbon, and Jenason Spady received a purple ribbon. 

The Food Science CDE Team received a white ribbon.  Individually, Jenason Spady and Taylor Fornander received a blue ribbon and Ridglyn Stanzyck and Gavin Hunt received a white ribbon.

The Agriscience CDE Team consisted of Lacey Reyman, Branson Anderson, Breanna Yates, and Kade Collins, who earned a red ribbon. 

Carter Dormann, Wade Dodge, and Morgan Ross developed and presented our Hall of Chapters display. 

Jenason Spady received a bronze medal in Senior Public Speaking.

 In Agriscience Fair, Oakley Larsen and Lacey Reyman received a third-place gold medal and Taylor Fornander & Wyland Lobner received a silver medal. 

This year, we had seven students receive their Nebraska State FFA Degrees. Congratulations to Gunner Roberson, Zeke Christiansen, Taylor Fornander, Morgan Ross, Kyle Rote, Wade Dodge, and Jena Spady.

While in Lincoln the member visited the Speedway Motor Museum, went bowling and played laser tag for their reward activity, visited the Nebraska Capital Building, attended convention sessions, and leadership workshops, and tour the Career Expo.  Keynote for the session included the Heartland Doc, Governor Pillen, retiring State FFA Officer addresses, and former National FFA Officer Jessica Herr, Miriam Hoffman, and Rhett Laubach.  These speakers lent their expertise in leadership and motivated students to become their best selves.
