Garden County Schools Science & Agriculture

 The Garden County Junior High Students recently presented their science research findings at our local science fair and the winners went on to compete at the Panhandle NJAS Regional Meet in Scottsbluff. The winners of the eighth-grade class at the GC Science Fair were: 1st Place Alvin Russell Alvin placed fifth and the regional science fair and qualified to present his research at the Nebraska Junior Academy of Science State Science Fair on April 21, 2022, at the Nebraska Wesleyan University Weary Center. 2nd Place Ridglyn Stanczyk 3rd Place Branson Anderson The winners of the seventh-grade class at the GC Science Fair were: 1st Place Jase Roberson 2nd Place Carolina Schwab 3rd Place Kirstyn Beberniss The winners of the sixth-grade class at the GC Science Fair were: 1st Place Naomi Sickler Naomi won the people's choice award at the regional science fair. 2nd Place Jadynn Dawkins 3rd Place Rainee Olson

The Garden County FFA Chapter will be attending the in-person Nebraska State FFA Convention on April 6, 7, and 8, 2022 in Lincoln Nebraska.  Congratulations to the twenty GC FFA  members that have qualified for state.

  Kyle Rote earned a Gold Medal at districts and a Bronze medal at the state level with his Entrepreneur Beef Proficiency. Kyle's proficiency is the first one in the history of Garden County FFA. Kyle owns a small herd of beef cattle.  This is his Supervised Agriculture Experience, SAE, in the beef entrepreneurship area.  To apply for the proficiency Kyle had to maintain a complete record book, journal about his successes and challenges.  The application was reviewed at the district level and received a Gold Plaque.  He will receive a bronze medal at the Nebraska State FFA Convention in April.
