GC FFA Explores Careers in Agriculture

On November 2, Oakley Larsen, Kyle Rote, Zeke Christiansen, and Gunner Roberson attended the Careers in Ag Day hosted by the Scottsbluff/Gering Chamber of Commerce at the Panhandle Research and Extension Center in Scottsbluff. They heard from Jaclyn Wilson about the importance of advocating for agriculture, and then attended sessions hosted by local business owners and leaders about how to pursue careers in their fields.
Then on November 11th and 12th, Zeke Christiansen and Gunner Roberson attend the P2C conference hosted by Nebraska FFA in Kearney. The P2C conference is a chance for students to explore the agriculture pathways and the careers in those pathways. On Friday evening, the guys attend a session about the pathways taught by the Nebraska FFA State Officers and attended a dance and game night. On Saturday, they attend breakout sessions about the careers in their interested pathways. Central Valley Ag discussed the different careers that are a possible in their industry and they attend a session hosted by Engler Entrepreneurship about the skills to become an entrepreneur are just a couple of the highlights.
