2024 Tiger Den Haunted House

 A spooky time was had at the Tiger Den Haunted House that the Garden County FFA hosted.  Thank you to all that attended.

2024 Livestock & Poultry Evaluation

Twenty-one Garden County FFA members participated in the Nebraska FFA District 12 Livestock Judging Career Development Events at the Box Butte County Fair Ground in Hemingford on October 14, 2024.  Sr. Livestock members: Kole Fornander, Ridglyn Stanczyk, Jase Roberson, Bre Yates, Javis Underwood, Karma Peterson, and Carver Corfield Jase Roberson (blue ribbon), Carver Corfield (blue ribbon), Karma Peterson (white ribbon), and Bre Yates (white ribbon) qualified to compete at the Nebraska State FFA Competition in April by placing 6th and receiving a white ribbon as a team. Jr. Livestock members: Chanley Loomis (blue ribbon), Kenley Dehning, Oliver Davis, Eli Smith, Rainee Olson, Jana Spencer Poultry Evaluation: Victor Rueda, Cable Larsen, Kirstyn Beberniss, Abigail (Gracie) Loyd, Korryn Beberniss, Jadynn Dawkins, Kelbi Cooper, and Carolin Schwab

2024 Ag Safety Day

 The 7th annual Ag safety day was held on October 2. The Garden County 3rd graders were the third group to attend this event on the Farm. This event is hosted by the Garden County Extension Office and the Garden County FFA Chapter. The FFA members were in charge of cooking the meal and presenting and creating sessions for the 3rd graders to go through.  Starting the day off, Extension Educator, Sarah Paisley, gave a presentation on sun safety, afterward the 3rd graders would go on to rotate through the following Ag topics: Animal Safety, with the help of a chicken, horse, and dog; environmental safety, learning about wildlife and how to be prepared in the outdoors; and personal protective equipment where youth talked about chemical safety while tie-dying their own Ag Safety Day t-shirt. To help them learn more about where the food we eat comes from, the lunch was full of Garden County AG products.  After lunch, the group headed off on a farm tour. Rich and Dorene Paisley ...

2024 Connecting Chapters Training

 The Garden County FFA chapter was able to participate in Connecting Chapter Training in Ogallala where they learned how to tech kids about agriculture and different lessons by engaging in hands on lessons. The following participants were Kirstyn and Korryn Beberniss, Jadynn Dawkins, and Kelbi Cooper. They plan to read Potatoes for Pirate Pearl  to the Garden County Elementary second-graders.
